bo4 and CW made a lot of really big changes, some good, some bad, they need to be judged on their own merit rather than pegged against an imaginary BO3 pt2

I’m an OG zombies fan(played since WaW) and like CW while also not liking BO3.
Even though I don’t like BO4 all that much, I would argue it fixes a lot of issues with BO3 and I prefer BO4 at times.
Being here since the BO3 days, I can safely say this sub hates any new game like it shot their dog while huffing the farts of whatever game they loved before it. You can’t say anything good about the new game, can’t say anything bad about the old.
When CW was just coming out, “that game” was BO3. People arguing about which game was too easy, while both admittedly are very easy.
I guarantee in 2024 we’ll see Black Ops 5 going against BO4, and then 2026 we’ll see arguments about how CW and VG were better than Black Ops World and Vanguard 2.

I’ve been playing since world at war, so to me CW was a very nice change if pace. The new additions such as salvage, crafting, and trials were all really fun to play with and it kept me interested. Now that doesn’t mean I don’t have issues with the mode. I personally don’t like the map design of most of CW, and I feel like the zombie spawn rate should be lowered while making the zombies themselves more deadly. CW did alot right in my book, but I still think Treyarch has some work to do to refine what CW brought us.
Tl;Dr CW zombies was alot of fun, but it’s far from the best of Treyarch zombies IMO as it stands now. 2024 can easily change this though, it all comes down to Treyarch obviously

I have played bo4, and while I don’t hate it, I didn’t like it much. I have played cold war and I also could vibe with it. To this day I still play Bo3 and bo2, I can just turn my brain off and run around in circles, I don’t have to look up a guide or anything just to get the bare minimum done.(I only play buried, origins and the giant nowadays)

Been playing since Bo1 and played every iteration of zombies including non Treyarc, only one i disliked really was CW, i disliked BO4 when i came out but tweaks, updates and DLC make it an enjoyable experience now, decided to give CW another go to help a friend do EEs, still dont like it, just too boring and nothing to work towards in a match outside of making numbers bigger, if i want to do that i open Cookie clicker, rather than download 80+ GB

We can’t help but sperg, as an old school WAW-BO3 fan I can say it’s hard to understand how people can enjoy games that fall short of what came before them. Sure, “nice opinion bro” but like, Cold war is nothing but a disservice to the story, with maps rehashed harder than fucking BO4.

I always considered BO4 and before that, to be “OG”. For me the New Guard is Cold War and Vanguard. Does’t stop afficionados from arguing whether BO4 or BO3 was better- I enjoyed 4 the most.
I too loooved Firebase Z and had some fun with the outbreak modes in Cold War.
IMO Vanguard is really underwhelming and the mashup of historical guns with scopes, pistol grips, etc that were really incredibly rarely used, even by OSS/SAS types, breaks the immersion for me. Most of the bizzarro guns in the microtransaction store aren’t even cool, just wierd looking.

Cold War was GOAT potential before they started nerfing everything. BO4 was alright but I wasn’t a fan of their changes to the perk system.

Super casual player… loved bo2, not any good at it. Really liked bo3, again suuuper not good at it. Didn’t play bo4 because I fell out of zombies and cod as a whole then.
Returned when a friend had me play cw with them and fell in love all over again. I’ve dropped hours (not like ya’ll) into Cold War specifically, but I’ve found myself wanting to return to games like bo2+bo3.
Reinstalled both of them on my Xbox and picked up bo3+dlc during a steam sale.
Still not any good at the older games, but resources and wisdom and knowledge on the games are part of my pack now so all that’s left is attempts.

Why do people care what Zombies game others like to play?
Been playing since CoD4 came out, most people who actually played these things on launch have moved on from the series for years now. BO4 and CW both had things that were really great, and things that were really terrible. So who cares?
