    The airstrike not even related to you ate all the sound and made nothing else register. Their sound engine is complete bottlenecked garbage, it can only process 4-8 sounds at a time and for some reason it will prioritize air strikes and clusters from half the map away over enemy footsteps and gunshots, every. Time. It always registers your footsteps and sounds, so you’re eating half of what it can let you hear, add teammates? Yea, you’ll only hear an enemy when nothing else is going on, and at least one teammate is like 50m away.

    just remember the importance of hearing the airstrike happening at observatory -600m away from you instead of the footsteps and gunshots 6m behind you

    If there’s any other sound going on, like the Airstrike in this video, the game just mutes everything else. Audio is horrible. I advise to wait a couple of months before playing this, maybe they’ll fix some of this stuff

    I heard his bullets hit the wall and his last jump around the corner faintly. Everything I see this I was think of their patent that effects gameplay based on a hidden “skill” value. They have admitted that it’s in the game, they just said it’s for PVE only and not PVP. I don’t trust them, do you?

    This is a great clip. Frustrating, but great because it is the perfect evidence that the audio really needs work.

    Yes but very last minute. The reason is simple, there are too many sounds going on at the same time. The precision overtook the movement sounds.

    There are so many things in this game that need fixing but the complete lack of audio in a freaking BR with an insanely fast TTK is just ridiculous imo

  17. yes. landing from a jump is weirdly super audible. that’s why when im chasing someone, i never jump.

    the single tap gunshot was audible too.

    but it’s very very quiet, so unless you’re really paying attention you could easily miss it.

  18. If you’re more than 10 ft away you can’t hear bullets firing just like in real life.

    I had a dude open a door and full sprint into the room and kill me. I only heard the last 2 steps before it was too late. Didn’t hear the door opening, or the sprinting until he was up my ass already.

    But footsteps on stairs sound like they’re being amplified 3x.

    the sounds were way off like they were so far away in the distance and not directly behind you. directional audio is plain awful in this game. 😢
