If you buy the battle pass once and complete it each time without spending any of the cp , it gives you enough to buy it the next time

You’ve completed the BP. You can only use the items that say “free” everything else is unusable until you buy the BP.
If you were to buy enough COD points to unlock the BP now, you’d earn enough COD points through the completed BP to buy next season’s BP.
If you are able to complete the BP every season, you’ll always have enough points for the following season.

Pretty sure the gold tier has to be bought, it’s unlocked before level 0, so without buying it should be impossible to unlock. UNLESS those rewards are apart of unlocking the entire battle pass upon completion
