Snipers. Should they one-shot on headshots, yes or no? Not talking about marksmen or battle rifles, but actual snipers. Buff or keep them as they are?

    I snipe a dude, headshot, no down. He replates, I headshot him again, no down. How is that fun?

  5. With the slow bolt-actions Sniper rifles it should be a 1 shot to the head. Not the Marksman rifles though.

    It makes zero sense to me why a large caliber sniper can’t one shot from within 300m. Sure marksmen and battle rifles but a 50 cal round to the face should def take someone down

    Yes they should. Not being able to do so makes snipers not really worth running in a lot of cases as usually they can get to cover before you can follow up.

    Add the helmets in DMZ to war zone. If you have 3 plates and helmet then everything off and low hp, no helmet and downed

    Definitely, one shot to head and down.

    Not one shot to the head and you break armour and they run off.

    Because an armour plate doesn’t cover the head. Add helmets to protect the head if they want to go down that route.

    Should be rewarding the sniper for getting the headshot in the first place.

    It depends on how easy the sniper is to handle. I respect genuine sniper shots from a distance. Where they have had to line up with relatively slow ADS, controlled breathing etc. This should result in a down/kill. But WZ1 Grorenko esque snipers that can aim in whilst being shot and with no real aiming shouldn’t down/kill in one shot.

    Snipers are great in dmz because not everyone has a three plate vest

    For heavy snipers, of course.

    It’s easily balanced with slow ADS, slow movement, and high flinch.

    The movement balance would be furthered if the movement penalty was incurred by carrying the weapon, not just weather it’s currently equipped.

    If they add more bullet drop so snipers take more skill and you have to lead shots past 50-60 meters then that would be balanced

    Just don’t want everyone to run snipers

  17. Strictly snipers to the head – should be one shot downs. Unquestionable. Although distance should play a factor, anything under say 250m one shot down (fully plated) anything over I could see an argument for not one shot down(would depend on player plate situation)

    In a game with roughly one life, you shouldn’t die to someone camping a rooftop or bush while you’re trying to cross the street. It still does 1 shot a blue armor player. People can consistently hit headshots, but the majority of people struggle to hit with a sniper and then will get a lucky headshot and all the sudden win the engagement. If you can’t capitalize on a headshot then you are too far away to be actively fighting an opponent or are unwilling to take any risks in the game by leaving your spot.

    If you want to discuss ttk in the game, you should be asking for other guns to kill slower, not one set of guns to kill quicker. The TTK is ridiculously fast and should be increased a good amount to actually generate the ability for players to make plays. Then, with longer ttk, a headshot might be even more beneficial since you effectively put the opponent to 1hp. Shit, make everyone start with 3 plates and allow us to find 4 plate vests and let snipers 1 shot 3 plate vests. Now it takes even longer to fully plate up, giving the sniper more time to act, and every other gun takes a little longer to kill.

    Don’t talk about realism unless you are ready to fully discuss realism. Calling in an air strike or mortar strike takes about 5 seconds (not realistic). You regenerate health after getting shot. You can basically be killed but self revive yourself. You have infinite parachutes attached to your back. The game looks realistic and that is basically where realism ends. If a sniper headshot should 1 kill because of realism, then every other gun should 1 shot headshot as well, should also include heart shots to unplated enemies, and hitting any major arteries.

    1 shot snipers would also greatly increase the amount of camping going on in an already vastly slowed down version of WZ, which would be very unhealthy.

    yes, they should get that buff but also get nerfs such as movement penalty, bullet drop off, and definitely aim down sight speed.

    Marksman rifles deserve to be one shot up to about 75m or at least 50. Snipers up to somewhere around 170-200m mark.
    I don’t really play with marksmanl/sniper rifles, but they need to be viable. Battle rifles would be nice to have a two hit to head up to 15-20m but they feel kinda awkward in BR.

    They did that for a reason and its actually makes sense.WZ2 has much more slower gameplay than WZ1.In WZ1 to dodge the headshot from sniper all u had to do is slide cancel it.If u think about it that makes much more harder for sniper to hit headshot and as i said gameplay was much more faster.In WZ2 theres no slide cancel and gameplay is slower,yes of course you can slide but when u slide ur character actually stops for half second and sniper guy can easily hit headshot.Gameplay is slowed=sniper gettin a easy headshot.Now think about how big mess would it will be if snipers were 1 shot kill.Everyone would roll heavy snipers and stick on the roof and theres no way that you can dodge bullet from sniper(if sniper guy is bad then ofc u can xd).Map is big also,lots of desert and big spaces.Im not saying that i support this,i actually miss gettin headshot and down him but when u think about it,it kinda makes sense.

    It should definitely be buffed. Snipers not downing with a headshot is the main (and tbh only real) downside in wz2.0 for me at the moment.

    Definitely should be but only for the snipes that are slow, cumbersome and can’t fire off repeated bullets straight away

    I think it all about the distance of the engagement. If close many guns should be one shot kill. But as the range widens guns fall off to the point where eventually nothing is a one shot.

    So there’s been a big controversy surrounding sniper rifles in the game and their inability to one shot enemies with three plates. I feel like this is one of the best changes and I’d like to explain why.

    Reason 1 – change is good.

    We all know that satisfying feeling we got from a headshot in Warzone 1. One click and the enemy went down. But looking back at it sniper rifles were always meta. I always ran an AR and a sniper rifle. For two years straight. How exciting. It’s great to see some change in that regard.

    Reason 2 – it fits the balancing.

    With increased recoil in the AR and LMG category, it’s impossible to challenge a sniper that’s over 200 meters away. While guns like the Grau decimated anyone a mile away and sniper rifles needed to one shot to have any chance to compete, that’s not the case in Warzone 2.

    Reason 3 – headshots are easier to hit than ever.

    The game is slower than it used to be. Can’t sprint while plating up, extended movement techniques got removed, looting takes ages so you stand still for half an hour, the shop is a mess – it’s incredibly easy to hit headshots consistently. It would be incredibly annoying if you had no chance to react if you took a bullet while doing anything of the things I mentioned. Sniper rifles would be stronger than ever. Hard pass.

    Reason 4 – weapons and their boundaries.

    Everyone is complaining about the fast TTK. And the solution? Make it even faster. Very smart, I love it. “The Fennec melts me in no time, but my sniper rifle doesn’t down in one shot” – guess what. Your sniper rifle is not supposed to directly compete with a SMG. Is the Fennec too strong? Sure. But this has no effect on your sniper rifle. Every class of weapons has clear boundaries and there is situations where a sniper rifle is unbeatable. In Warzone 2 that’s 250 meters and beyond. Every fight that’s closer will most likely be lost and that’s good. You brought the wrong gun for the situation or you positioned yourself wrong.

    And that’s pretty much all. There’s more to it – like what’s the point of the lootable three plate vest when one gun category makes it completely obsolete? And not everyone has three plates at all times anyways so there are one shot downs regularly. And so on. But this post is long enough. All in all I feel like the sniper rifle category is in a good spot.

    I think such a popular game should be more realistic. There are no armor that can stop a 50cal. And even though the plates in the game maybe can stop a 50cal, you still don’t ‘plate up’ your head. Maybe they can add helmets to the game, but until that time comes, I still think snipers should be one shot, at least one headshot.

    At least proper sniper rifle should one shot down a player that is hit in the head and has 3 armors.
    Chest one shot maybe if 1 or 2 armor.

    Right now sniper rifles have no purpose, you can simply poke people at a distanze telling them where you are

    Leave them be, it’s far too easy to hit a headshot in COD.

    Game feels much more balanced now people no longer fighting at 500m meaning I can deal with the 2 teams within 100m of us without getting sniped by 4 squads on a mountain other side of the map or hiding in a fucking radio tower.

    Sniping still has a place it’s just more situational, just stow one in your bag for the right moment and don’t expect to use it for every single fight.
