Hey everyone! Just managed to take the #1 spot in the world in Steel Nomad for the 7800X3D + RTX 5060 Ti combo, breaking the 4.4k barrier with a score of 4431.
I wanted to share my exact configuration and findings, as standard MSI Afterburner simply doesn't cut it for the Blackwell architecture if you want to touch the interconnect domains and bypass hard power limits.
The Hardware:
GPU: Palit GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Dual 8GB
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (CO -20/-22, FMax 5050MHz)
RAM: KingBank 2x16GB Hynix A-die @ 6000 MT/s CL26 (Tuned subtimings, 1:1)
Mobo: ASRock B850 Riptide WiFi
The Secret Sauce (mVolt+ v0.50.5 Settings):
To get past the factory 180W limit and standard slider caps, I used the BIOS override feature in mVolt+ to flash custom limits to the driver dynamically.
Power Limit & Current: Unlocked to 210W (116%) and 21A. This stopped the card from throttling during the heavy 4K render.
Core: +440 MHz offset locked at a maximum voltage ceiling of 1015 mV. The card held a rock-solid flat line on the frequency graph without a single dip.
VRAM (GDDR7): +3600 MHz (Slider unlocked via BIOS override). No ECC correction triggered, just pure bandwidth scaling.
Fabric / Interconnect: This is where Blackwell shines and where you get the extra points. I pushed the XBAR (L2 Cache bus) to +440 MHz and SYS to +380 MHz.
Cooling & Setup:
Fans were manually forced to 100% to keep the chip around 30°C before the run. The lower temps saved about 8-10W in leakage, which the GPU instantly used to sustain maximum boost clocks instead of hitting the power wall.
If anyone is struggling with Blackwell overclocking or hitting power walls on standard tools, I highly recommend giving mVolt+ a try. Let me know if you have any questions about the setup!
