Apex Legends’ Javelin anti-cheat prevented 265,550 cheat attempts during its first week, according to a report published on Steam by EA’s Anti-Cheat team. EA also reports that 12,969 accounts were banned during that period.
The two totals do not correspond one-to-one: EA says a prevented attempt does not always result in a ban. The report covers PC, since Javelin is an anti-cheat system for that platform. report published on Steam
The report also covers hardware cheating
EA says it tracked 40 cheat programs and disrupted 91% of them during the week. The post does not explain how that figure was calculated or what “disrupted” means.
The measures described cover conventional PC cheats, as well as cheating with third-party hardware and controllers. For hardware cheating, EA says it relies on detections and evidence intended to distinguish cheating from legitimate hardware use.
EA reports 4,058 Aimzenix bans, 1,201 Cronus bans, 141 Titan bans and 199 XIM bans. The post does not break these totals down by platform and says the figures reflect activity identified and handled by Anti-Cheat systems during the period.
EA is preparing information for console players
The Anti-Cheat team says it is investigating videos in circulation that show what it describes as particularly blatant cheating. It also says important information for console players is coming in the weeks ahead, without specifying its content or date.
