Overwatch Solo Leveling Collab Adds Five Shadow Monarch Skins

Genji becomes Sung Jinwoo in the Overwatch Solo Leveling collab. Officially titled Overwatch x Shadow Monarch, the collab turns five heroes into Hunters and Shadow Soldiers from the Korean action fantasy series. Reaper, Anran, Reinhardt, and Lifeweaver join Genji in the lineup, and the Solo Leveling skins are available from 6 to 26 October as part of Overwatch Season 5: A Grim Doctrine.

Blizzard Entertainment launches the collab with the rest of Season 5 at 11am PT on 6 October. In New Zealand that works out to 7am NZDT on Wednesday 7 October, and it’s 5am AEDT in Sydney and Melbourne. Local players should plan around the 7th, even though the official date says the 6th.

Every Overwatch x Shadow Monarch Skin

Solo Leveling ranks its monster-hunting Hunters from E-Rank, the weakest, up to S-Rank. Blizzard’s five picks cover the series lead, two of its top S-Rank Hunters, and two members of the Shadow Army that Jinwoo commands.

Blizzard tied each pairing to a trait the hero and character share. Genji carries Jinwoo’s levelling-up arc, from weakest Hunter to the strongest commander around. Anran takes on Cha Hae-In’s calm, serious fighting style, and Lifeweaver gets Choi Jong-In, a Guild Master who wins with brains as much as firepower. Reinhardt’s armour made him the obvious home for Iron.

Both Shadow Army skins go to characters who come back after being beaten, and that lines up with the rest of Season 5, where the headline event mode revives heroes with new powers every time they die. Reaper as Igris is the tidiest fit of the five. Resurrection is already central to Reaper, and Igris only joins Jinwoo’s side after he is defeated and brought back as a Shadow Soldier.

What Else Launches in Overwatch Season 5

Season 5 starts the final chapter of the Reign of Talon storyline, and the collab sits next to some of the biggest gameplay changes Overwatch has made this year.

Doctrine: a new vampire-themed Support hero from Doomfist’s past. His Eternal Scepter heals allies and damages enemies at mid-to-long range, his bat-like drones boost team healing and attack speed, and his Ultimate gives allies Overhealth while limiting enemy maximum health.Watchpoint: Grímsvötn: the first new Escort map in nearly four years, set in the Icelandic volcanic prison Doomfist breaks into to free Doctrine.Sombra: moves from Damage to Support. Hotfix heals a targeted ally and can be cast while Invisible, and Cyberspace heals allies while applying a new Weaken status that cuts enemy damage and healing.Roadhog: his Scrap Gun now fires two bursts per volley, and the new Trash Compactor swallows enemy projectiles before firing back an explosive shot that scales with how much it absorbed.Mystery Madness: Graveyard Games: a limited-time mode from 6 October to 2 November. You start as a random hero and come back from each death with random new powers, while players pledge Offerings to decide whether Ashe, Moira, or Winston joins next. The roster grows to 20 heroes by the end.Unvaulted Passes: revised Battle Passes from Seasons 1 to 15 return. They keep your old progress, can be levelled alongside the current pass, and stay on your account permanently once acquired.Cosmetics: a Halloween Battle Pass with five Legendary skins, three Epic skins, and up to 80 Mythic Prisms, plus a Dragon Shaoxia Wuyang Mythic skin, Lucio’s Treblemaker Mythic weapon with a tiny dancing frog inside, and Tech Witches shop skins from 9 to 26 October.Team Drives: back from 29 to 31 October, keeping winning teammates grouped together for their next Competitive match.Solo Leveling Outside Overwatch

The crossover lands during a busy stretch for the franchise. Netmarble’s action roguelite Solo Leveling: KARMA is due in 2026 on Android, iOS, and PC, with an original story set during the 27-year Monarch War and an opening animated by A-1 Pictures staff. An anime film, Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, was announced at Anime Expo 2026 and will continue the story after the anime’s two seasons, both streaming on Crunchyroll with English dubs and subs.

Netflix also has a Korean live-action series in the works with Kakao Entertainment and SANAI PICTURES. Byeon Woo-seok, known for Lovely Runner, leads as Sung Jinwoo, and Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo are co-directing.

How Long the Shadow Monarch Collab Lasts

The collab is available for 21 days, closing on 26 October. That’s the same day the Tech Witches skins leave the shop, and a week before Mystery Madness: Graveyard Games ends on 2 November. So anyone saving up for the Solo Leveling skins can’t count on the full Halloween event window to decide. Blizzard hasn’t said what the five skins will cost, or whether they’ll be sold individually or only as a bundle.
