Krafton is preparing to give PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS players more ways to experience the game by introducing PUBG: Playgrounds, a new in-game hub that will feature community-created content. To celebrate its upcoming launch, the company has announced a global modding competition that gives creators the chance to win cash prizes while also having their creations added directly to the game.
The PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS UGC Contest is being held in partnership with CurseForge, one of the largest platforms for game mods. The competition features a total prize pool of $95,000 and is open to creators from around the world.
Starting August 12, participants will be able to submit original mods in one of three categories: Combat, Survival, and Creative. Krafton says creators have plenty of freedom when designing their projects, as entries can include traditional competitive game modes, cooperative PvE experiences, racing events, parkour challenges, party games, or completely new gameplay ideas.

Winning mods will be playable in an official game mode
One of the biggest rewards isn’t just the prize money. Krafton plans to select 30 winning mods, which will become part of PUBG: Playgrounds after the feature launches. This means players will be able to discover and play these community-made experiences directly through PUBG’s official Play menu.
Each category has its own $25,000 prize pool. The first-place winner in every category will receive $10,000, while the remaining prize money will be distributed among the other top entries. On top of that, Krafton will hand out 10 Mid-Contest Prizes worth $500 each to recognize promising submissions before the contest ends. The community will also get a chance to participate. After submissions close, players will be able to vote for their favorite creations, with 6 Community Favorite winners each receiving $2,500. This brings the total number of cash prize winners up to 46.
For those interested, submissions will remain open from August 12 through September 2, while community voting is scheduled to take place between September 6 and September 9. Once that is over, the winners will be announced on September 14.
