How a game that felt so clunky to play got that much attention is still baffling to me

For example: The plant system in Zetsubou no Shima The afterlife in Mob of the Dead The giants in Origins Leroy in Buried The bus in Tranzit Crowd Affinity in IX Rushmore in Alpha Omega Dragons in Gorod Krovi Etc

This was my second shot at completing the seed trial and both tries I just die from nothing and there are no zombies. Super sad this happened twice now.
