NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 13, 2026) – The University of North Alabama baseball team fell 6-3 in its opening conference game against Lipscomb in Nashville, Tenn. on Friday afternoon.
North Alabama (7-11) held Lipscomb to one run in the final eight innings — only a solo shot from Brady Miller in the bottom of the fourth.
The Lions had eight hits to score the three runs which came in the first and the third innings.
Dylan Coleman and Nash Rippen each earn two hits for the afternoon — this extends Ripper’s reached base safely streak to 15 straight games.
Lipscomb (7-9) opened the first frame with five runs thanks to five singles and a double to allow the Bisons to never look back.
UNA took advantage of starting pitcher Alexander Llinas in the third with three hit batters and a walk that helped score two.
Will Millard scored the opening run of the game while Petey Craska and Coleman scored the final two. Millard, Craska, Bryant Loving and Justin Santoyo grabbed a hit at Ken Dugan Field today.
Outside of the first inning, North Alabama staved off potential runs with timely strikeouts and defensive stops.
UNA opened with Tripp Patterson followed by Justus Agosto and Landon Scruggs to close.
Agosto went for his longest appearance this season with 3.1 innings with three strikeouts — his final one being pivotal with two runners in scoring position to finish the bottom of the seventh.
North Alabama stranded nine base runners for the Friday game.
