Hello,
I’m really getting into planning my dream setup, but I’ve hit a big roadblock with the lighting.
I’m sharing an AI-generated pic to show the vibe I’m going for. I’m totally into that fancy indirect/cove lighting look where the wall just glows without seeing those ugly LED beads (ignore the steering wheel, pedals, and the painting; they will not be there).
The Problems:
Strict "No-Damage" Rule: My father is super protective of the furniture, so I can’t carve, drill, or make any channels in this desk.
The Desk is a Beast: It’s solid wood and super tough. Even if I wanted to try and "sneakily" carve it, I don’t have the power tools to get through it.
Built-in/Flush to Wall: My desk is actually attached to the wall, so there’s no gap behind it. I can’t just stick a strip to the back edge like a usual setup.
I’m a total noob. I want to create a custom setup so I can cut the strips and reuse them for my shelves (aiming for 60 LEDs/m), but all the "technical stuff" really confuses me. Wiring and voltages feel like a foreign language, so I need a "Lego-style" solution that just snaps together.
or is the lighting that i want even possible to achieve?
i am open to recommendations and advice.
Thank you,
A beginner.
