Ski for MS Vertical Challenge with Jonny Moseley
Can Do MS presents Jonny Moseley’s Ski for MS Vertical Challenge event this Saturday. Moseley, an Olympian, U.S. Freeskiing Open and X Games star will rip it up with participants on Vail Mountain. Joining Moseley will be Donnie Pelletier, “Maine’s Finest Athlete” for some antics on the slopes. Pelletier can’t be missed with his plaid hat with the ear flaps, jeans with gaiters and wild skiing style.
Jonny Moseley’s Ski for MS Vertical Challenge raises money for those living with multiple sclerosis. Can Do MS was founded in 1984 by Jimmie Heuga. Heuga was diagnosed with MS when he was 26 shortly after he won an Olympic bronze medal in alpine skiing at the 1964 Olympic Games. Heuga lived with a “can do” attitude and encouraged those with MS to focus on what they can do versus what they can’t do.
Come out and support the cause on Saturday. You can sign up in advance online or register the day of the event. Go to CanDo-MS.org to get more details and the day’s schedule. Get your team to wear costumes — the zanier the better!
Vail Yeti Hockey last games of the season

Vail Yeti Hockey is playing its last games of the season this weekend. The valley’s Senior A Hockey Club has an abbreviated season this year due to the remodel project at its home rink, Dobson Ice Arena. This season, it has played teams at Eagle Pool & Ice Rink in Eagle Ranch. Returning for a second year are fan favorites, Empty Netters, a Los Angeles-based team that consists of former professional players. The Empty Netters Podcast is a top-ranked Apple podcast that features interviews with NHL players and they were recently covering the U.S. Women’s and Men’s hockey action at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
Vail Yeti veteran Dom Panetta said that the Yeti swept the Empty Netters in last season’s matchup. Despite the competitive nature of the match-up, Panetta said the Vail Yeti Hockey team always extends hospitality and will show the visiting team around.

“We will take them on a tour of Dobson Arena on Saturday and ski with them afterwards,” Panetta said.
But when the puck drops, it’s all business. Expect to find the same energy at these games in Eagle as you’d find at Dobson Arena in Vail. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. so come early for the warmups, DJ, national anthem and the anticipation as the puck drops around 8 p.m. Yeti merchandise will be available for purchase as well as beer and concessions. The Vail Yeti Hockey games have a charitable component during every game and this weekend’s beneficiary is Folds of Honor. Folds of Honor supports the children and spouses of America’s fallen and disabled service members.
Do note that Eagle Pool & Ice Rink has a smaller capacity than Dobson Arena, and each game has been selling out. Vail Yeti Hockey is excited to return to Vail’s Dobson Arena next winter with a full schedule. Tickets for the games on Friday and Saturday are $15, children 3 years and younger are free. Go to VailYetiHockey.com for more information.
