AGS on Tuesday announced that Marcus Fortunato has been named Vice President and General Manager of AGS Brazil.

While AGS went live with real-money gaming in the country in January, the company’s definitive entry into Brazil sets AGS up to be one of the leading forces in the new era of state lotteries and regulated gaming entertainment in the country.

“I am excited to bring over 20 years of gaming experience and knowledge of the Brazilian market to AGS fulltime,” Fortunato said in a statement. “Brazil represents one of the largest untapped markets and CEO David Lopez’s vision of growth positions the company for permanence and leadership in the region.”

Fortunato has worked as a consultant and representative for AGS in Brazil for the past nine years, helping bring lottery products live for the first time in the region. He will work with AGS Interactive to continue strengthening their footprint in the country.

Fortunato’s experience includes more than 20 years in the VLT instant lottery market in the United States. In Brazil, his initial focus will be strengthening existing relationships with clients while expanding and developing new partnerships and alliances in this emerging lottery market, as well as securing table games product placement with eligible venues.
