If you’re looking for excellent 4K gaming and ray tracing performance, but want to keep prebuild prices below $3,000 in most cases, then the RTX 5080 is the card to go for, especially when paired with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D. This graphics card is built on Nvidia’s most recent Blackwell Architecture, which boasts a wave of improvements thanks to its newer, more powerful technology and features. There’s 16GB of faster GDDR7 memory, improved ray tracing performance via its newer 4th-gen RT cores, and a significant leap in its AI capabilities, thanks to 5th-gen tensor cores. In terms of exclusive features, you’ve got MFG, which can boost perceived fps much higher than what this card is already capable of with raw rasterization. You’ve also got 9th-gen Nvidia econders, for faster, more efficient creative workflows, too. Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor
The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is still one of the top gaming CPUs available, even with the slightly faster 7 9850X3D being released fairly recently. What makes this CPU special is its unique 3D V-cache, which is actually a 2nd-gen version designed for better thermals and efficiency this time around. It can store far more data for quicker access than your typical CPU, which helps to improve fps and 1% lows. Its 5.2GHz boost clock speed also helps with a wide range of creative tasks, such as rendering, video editing, and making real-time adjustments in 3D, for example. Storage, RAM, and other features
You’ve got a solid 32GB of DDR5 in this build, which is fantastic if you’re playing RAM-intensive games, like open-world titles or simulators, and it’s also excellent for improving responsiveness and speed with creative workflows, too, especially with applications like Blender and Adobe Premiere Pro. There’s a large 2TB SSD, which can easily hold around 15 big AAA games and still give you enough room for other files, too. In terms of cooling, you’ve got a powerful 360mm AIO system, with a digital display, and everything is built on an impressive B850 motherboard, which boasts WIFI 7 for lightning-fast connectivity.
Things to consider
This is a bit of a beast, and a stylish one at that, but you can get it cheaper if you don’t mind sacrificing gaming performance if you opt for an RTX 5080, 7-265K build. I’ve come across a fair few of these at under $2,500, and they usually come with 32GB of DDR5 and a 2TB SSD, also. These would be a more budget-friendly, relatively speaking, option if you’re someone who’s after something with a higher core and thread count, of which the Intel Core Ultra 7-265K certainly has over the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
