A brand new set of of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races is available to players around the world starting this fine Monday morning, with a dose of the familiar and a little taste of something new too.
There should be a little something for everyone this week, with the regular Gr.4 and Gr.3 races joined by a second tuning-special in three weeks — though it’s occupying the usual one-make road car race spot this time round and there’s a few layers of complexity too…
Table of Contents

The tuning race takes us to the Swiss mountains for a six-lap race around the Eiger Nordwand circuit. You’ll need a Subaru Impreza 22B for this one and it is currently in the Used Car Dealer so make sure you snap one up as soon as possible if you want to take part this week.
Technically you can use a loaner vehicle for this one, but it’ll be in basically standard specification so you’ll be 20hp down — as you’re allowed to run up to 315hp — before even taking tuning into consideration. Standard curb weight is fine though, with 1270kg being the required minimum.
You do have access to the full range of vehicle settings for this one, with a couple of caveats. As is generally the case, you’re not permitted to use Nitrous or Widebody mods, but somewhat unusually you’re not allowed to use any parts from the Ultimate tab of the Tuning Shop.
Once you’ve got a handle on all of that — and we’re sure that GTPlanet members will be posting tunes in the comments thread and Tuning forum — it’s not a particularly complex race. However it is a fully ranked race, with Driver Rating and Sportsmanship Rating updates both switched on, so take some care on this tight and twisty circuit.

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races February 23: Race B
Track: Watkins Glen Long Course – 4 laps
Car: Gr.4 – Garage/Specified Car
Power/Weight/PP Limit: BOP (M)
Tires: Racing Hard
Settings: Partially Allowed – Brake Balance
Start Type: Rolling Start
Mandatory Pit Stop: –
Fuel Multiplier: 1x
Tire Multiplier: 1x
The Gr.4 cars occupy their usual sprint race slot this week, with a quick blast around the Watkins Glen Long Course that’ll be over and done with before you know it.
As is often the case in this category, comprising a whole mess of drivetrain types that are rarely balanced anywhere, one car or type of car quickly emerges as the only choice for a competitive race. This week we’re back in the Citroen GT by Citroen, which is dominating the leaderboards alongside a handful of other mid-engined models.
Whichever car you go for, Racing Hard tires are required for this four-lapper. This pretty solid rubber is a bit unforgiving on some of the corners at the Glen, so watch out for sliding wide on the apex over this barely eight-minute race.

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races February 23: Race C
Track: Mount Panorama – 10 laps
Car: Gr.3 – Garage/Specified Car
Power/Weight/PP Limit: BOP (H)
Tires: Racing Soft
Settings: Partially Allowed – Brake Balance
Start Type: Rolling Start
Mandatory Pit Stop: 1
Fuel Multiplier: 2x
Tire Multiplier: 3x
Race C is a relatively quiet one in terms of regulations. You’ll just need a Gr.3 car on Racing Soft tires for a ten-lap run around Mount Panorama.
This is a tight circuit and overtaking is at a premium, so unless you’re going for all-out power to blast past on the two big straights you’ll want to set a good qualifying time to get a decent grid slot. There’s basically one other overtaking opportunity: in the pits.
As usual, there is a mandatory pit stop. Failing to take it will land you with a one-minute penalty after the checkered flag, and you’ll need to take care entering the pits to ensure you don’t cross the solid lines and score a three-second on-track penalty.
The tire wear multiplier is just low enough to make a stop-and-go viable if you’re a bit of a tire whisperer. You’ll need to calculate the value of saving a couple of seconds in the pits and keeping track position towards the end against that of fresh rubber in the closing stages.

Daily Races are the main ranked multiplayer events in Gran Turismo 7. Your DR and SR are determined by your performances, updating at the end of each race, and these are used to set your ranking and league for the game’s flagship esports series each season.
In order to access the Daily Races, you’ll need to unlock Sport Mode, by completing Menu Book 9 (“Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade”) in the GT Cafe single player hub. A PlayStation Plus subscription is required to take part.
With GT7’s Daily Races updating every Monday across the game’s life to date, the next new set should arrive on Monday, March 2.
