Pennsylvania’s total gaming revenue rose 11.64% year over year in January to $590,644,755, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, with double-digits recorded in both iGaming and sports wagering.
The January total compared with $529,079,052 in January 2025, and generated $249,969,629 in tax revenue. Month over month, total revenue was 4.2% lower than in December 2025.
Sports wagering revenue up 38.63%
Taxable sports wagering revenue increased 38.63% to $71,393,613 from $51,500,459 a year earlier. Total handle reached $782,423,791, down 10.39% from $873,149,858 in January 2025. Statewide hold was 9.13%.
Online wagering accounted for $67,623,872 of revenue, while retail sports betting contributed $3,769,742.
Valley Forge Casino Resort led the market with $27,657,457 in revenue from a $276,322,585 handle. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows followed with $22,677,099 from $235,828,664. Hollywood Casino York reported $5,580,764 from $56,296,416.
Tax revenue from sports wagering totaled $25,701,701.
iGaming posts 18.62% increase
Internet casino-type gaming generated $249,301,331 in January, up 18.62% from $210,170,977 in January 2025. The figure was below December’s $259.7 million record.
Online slots produced $194,825,533, a 22.81% increase year over year. iGaming table games generated $51,971,610, up 6.20%, while online poker declined 3.62% to $2,504,189.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course reported $96,245,668 in iGaming revenue, compared with $79,732,207 a year earlier, a 20.71% increase. Valley Forge Casino Resort posted $67,177,131, up 16.61%, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia recorded $40,142,905, up 13.25%.
Tax revenue from iGaming reached $113,918,351.
Retail slots and tables show modest growth
Retail slot machine revenue rose 0.67% to $189,098,891 from $187,834,351. The number of slot machines in operation declined to 24,161 from 24,388 a year earlier. Tax revenue from slots was $95,571,123.
Parx Casino generated $29,225,770 in slot revenue, down 2.47%, while Wind Creek Bethlehem reported $21,107,606, down 0.71%. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh recorded $20,797,564, up 1.18%.
Retail table games revenue increased 2.80% to $75,781,693 from $73,720,836. Wind Creek Bethlehem led table revenue with $21,233,785, up 8.94%, followed by Parx Casino with $17,186,064, up 11.14%, and Live! Casino Philadelphia with $9,245,433, up 19.02%. Table games generated $12,836,616 in tax revenue.
VGTs and fantasy contests
Video gaming terminals at qualified truck stops generated $3,193,118 in adjusted revenue, a 0.56% increase from $3,175,197. By the end of January, 76 establishments operated a maximum of five machines each, compared with 74 locations a year earlier. VGT tax revenue totaled $1,660,421.
Fantasy contests revenue declined 29.92% to $1,876,110 from $2,677,232. DraftKings reported $1,178,671, down 19.64%, and FanDuel recorded $329,326, down 16.53%. Tax revenue from fantasy contests was $281,416.
