KATS AIM TO GO UNDEFEATED AGAINST THE OWLS

– Sam Houston dropped a 67–65 decision to FIU on Saturday, finishing the season without a win over the Panthers

–  The Kats dropped to third place in the standings, just one game behind MTSU and 4 games behind LA Tech

– Bearkats lead CUSA and rank third in the nation with 26.4 turnovers forced per game. The Kats have forced 20+ turnovers in 22 out of the 23 games this season, with Rice being the lone exception

– Sam Houston leads CUSA and ranks 27th in the nation in scoring defense, holding opponents to just 57.5 ppg

– Fanta Kone had 8 assists against FIU to reach 107 for the year and needs 12 more steals to get to 90. No Bearkat has had consecutive seasons of 100+ assists since Britni Martin (2011-12, 2012-13) and no Kat has had 90+ steals in consecutive seasons since LaKeita Richardson (1993-94, 1994-95)

– Bearkats had four players with double-digit scoring performance in the contest against FIU, which was the fifth time this season, Whitney Dunn lead the team with 18 points, marking her fifth double-figure scoring performance in conference play

– Sam Houston has put up 12 3-pointers in the last two contest between Missouri State and FIU, putting up 89 3-pts this season and surpassing the 71 they totaled last season

– The Kats are averaging 13.8 steals per game, ranking seventh nationally and leading CUSA. That pace puts them on track to record the fourth-most steals in a single season in Bearkat history.

– With a win, the Kats would move to 2–0 all-time at VyStar Arena against the Owls and remain undefeated in the season series. In the previous road meeting, the Bearkats earned a 65–53 victory, led by Ogayemi’s 17 points, while Nyla Inmon chipped in 16 points and eight rebounds.
