I had a spare £1 on steam, so thought "Never open a terminal before, let's give it a go". Managed to pull this, I don't mind the look of the skin, so considered buying it, but not before checking the Steam Market and a 3rd party site to get a rough reference (I know 3rd party markets are always cheaper).
Valve want £67.23 ($91) from the Terminal. Whilst the skin only costs £56 on the Steam Market, or £43 on a third party market place.
Factoring in only the Steam Community Market, that's a markup of around 15.5%.
My question is, what's the incentive? Unless I'm pulling a low float or rare pattern, why would anyone buy something from a terminal, when it's almost always more expensive than simply using the steam market or a third party?
Suffice to say, i won't bother opening a Terminal again
