I was always under the impression that all of the music was made for the game, and while some of it was I was surprised by the number of tracks that were straight out of movies. One of them was Minnesota Clay, one of the first Italian western movies to be released in the US in 1966. It felt kind of surreal watching it after associating so many of these songs with this game.
I wonder how that came about? The music rights must have been cheap, especially at the time, but what a great way to make sure the game sounds like an authentic western epic.
