Someone managed get into my account, my password wasnt changed, I got no steam guard notif pop up, fk knows how this exactly happened, I did dive a little deeper and found an API key attached to the account which I never added myself. My PC is literally clean, ran malwarebytes and found nothing, I make sure anything I download is safe from a reliable source. But this morning i woke up to the horror of seeing these items sold for this dirt cheap especially the gloves and AK being in prestine condition with no wear. The someone ended up transffering the funds by buying some Team Fortress item.
I contacted steam and looks like theyve refunded the account from what i see in the transaction history and wallet, but I want the AK and Gloves skins back more than anything. Whoever did this, didnt sell everything, most my weapon skins remain but just the AK which I loved most of all is gone. Now i'm not sure whats happening with the account, because soon after I changed all my security setting which didnt even look like they needed changing and removed the API key, I was hit with a community restrcition or something so i cant do much on my account other than play single player games.
I did also see online many cases where steam didnt recover anything for users with a similar issue. Has anyone else faced a similar issue like mine, if so what happened and how long did it take for you to get access to your account again and did you get your items back?
Whoever did this and anyone who ever attempts this shit, there is a special place in hell for you, and I pray you suffer in this life and in the next.
EDIT: What confuses me the most is, google search tells me that with steam 'No, items sold directly on the Steam Community Market cannot be reversed or refunded once the transaction is completed', but that team fortress 2 item was reversed by steam which was bought by the thief on the community market and has now left my inventory and ammount refunded into my wallet.
