It is expected to generate $62.8 billion.

GTA VI
This forecast was shared by analyst Mat Piscatella of Circana. He noted that the record year for the US is currently considered 2021, when Americans spent $61.7 billion on video games, gaming hardware, and accessories.
By the way, the year 2025 was close to breaking the record but fell slightly short. As a reminder, the American gaming market’s revenue in 2025 amounted to $60.68 billion.
According to Piscatella, setting a record in 2026 will be possible due to several factors. One of them is the release of GTA VI. Circana’s data shows that the game has the highest level of user interest in the US in the company’s history of observations, making its debut capable of leading to strong sales not only for GTA VI itself but also for consoles and other related products.
Furthermore, Piscatella expects continued demand for the Nintendo Switch 2. He also doesn’t rule out that the market revenue could be favorably impacted by the release of the Steam Machine, provided the console isn’t overly expensive due to the memory market crisis.
Piscatella also predicts growth in US revenue from gaming subscriptions. Interestingly, he previously stated multiple times about the stagnation of the segment and argued that subscriptions would not be the “future of gaming.”
