I had about $50 and one week to make this cyborg arm for a cyberpunk party this past weekend. Is it accurate? No, but it's given me the knowledge and experience to make the next one better and more easily.
I also have a pretty simple photography setup at home, but you can achieve a lot in editing. I had a lot of fun trying to match the lighting to the screenshots here.
So don't be discouraged by all the professional cosplayers out there; just go for it, make mistakes, have fun, learn from it. I guarantee people will still enjoy seeing it no matter what; I was the only Johnny at the party and people enjoyed seeing the costume. No one was criticising the inaccuracies. If anything, a few people had suggestions or wanted to help me build the next one.
