Alex will be joining Street Fighter 6 as the next character of the Season 3 Pass on March 17, 2025. A major balance patch featuring changes for every fighter will also be released on that date.
The community’s dissatisfaction with the frequency and impact of previous patches was recently commented on by Capcom. This suggests that this upcoming update might be more impactful than what the community is used to.
Just yesterday, we highlighted Chris_F’s predictions regarding which characters he believes will receive buffs and nerfs with the impending balance patch. It would seem that Broski has also recently shared his predictions for the update.
Broski notes that Japanese player opinions have historically had a lot of influence on Capcom’s priorities when it comes to rebalancing their fighting games. Due to this, Ed is likely to be hit hard by nerfs while Ryu might get toned down just a little bit.
Blanka and Mai Shiranui are also said to be on the chopping block for nerfs. These combatants continue to be top tier threats in the competitive scene.
Luke is likely going to receive some major buffs in this patch since he has fallen off hard in Season 3. Considering that Luke has become the “poster boy” of Street Fighter 6, it feels like Capcom wants the character to be more relevant at the competitive level.
