At least the SNES version of Street Fighter 2 that is

While many studios across the video game industry have been struggling at least a bit as of late, Capcom is continuing to steamroll forward ahead with high sales.
Capcom just updated their Platinum Titles list of their best-selling video games, and some of their fighting games saw a boost over their previous report.
As we recently learned from the company’s financial presentation, Street Fighter 6 reached 6.36 million copies sold as of the end of 2025.
That now puts Capcom’s current flagship fighter up to the studio’s 15th highest-selling release of all time, and there’s more.
It also makes Street Fighter 6 rank ahead of Street Fighter 2, however, that’s only for the SNES version of the game.
In total, the Street Fighter 2 series sold around 15 million copies on consoles, so the new game still has a long way to go if it ever hopes to beat that mark.
On top of finally reaching 1 million copies last year, the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection has increased its sales by at least 100,000 more, which boosted its rank from 123rd to 118th.
There were a few more small increases for other fighters as well.
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 also went up by another 100,000 to 2.3 million copies, and at least part of that has to be due to the dedicated modding scene and the UMvC3 Community Edition project.
The Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection did the same going from 3.7 to 3.8 million.
Their Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is not part of this list, so that means the title has not reached the 1 million sales mark yet, which isn’t too surprising since it had been out for around seven months at that point.
Street Fighter 5 remains on the cusp of hitting 8 million after 10 years, but it’s still stuck at 7.9 million for now with its successor quickly catching up.
It’s nice to see a handful of Capcom’s fighters get a boost in numbers, and hopefully that continues moving forward too.
