Hey everyone,
Just did my first RAM overclock + CPU undervolt on a Ryzen 7 9800X3D setup. Everything seems stable in tests i run, but I'd love tips on improvements or if I'm missing something.
Hardware:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- RAM: Apacer NOX RGB 64GB (2x32GB) 6400 CL32-39-39-84 @ 1.4V (XMP profile)
- MB: Gigabyte X870E Aorus Pro X3D Ice (BIOS F6)
- RAM cooling: Jonsbo NF-1
PBO/CPU settings:
- PBO Limits: Motherboard (PPT 810 TDC 540 EDC 720)
- Boost Override: +200 MHz
- PBO Scalar: Auto (1x)
- CO Per Core
RAM voltages (what's stable for me):
- SOC: 1.26V (minimum stable)
- VDD/VDDQ: 1,5V
- VDDIO: 1.35V (1.32V minimum stable)
Question on voltages:
Are 1.26V SOC and 1.32–1.35V VDDIO fine for daily use, or should I add headroom (e.g., 1.28–1.30V SOC / 1.4V VDDIO) for long-term stability? Or is lower better?
Notes:
RAM gets hot (~70°C) and errors out in TM5 without active cooling. With the Jonsbo RAM fan, temps stay <55°C and it's solid.
Stability tested with:
- TM5 Ryzen3D preset (4 hours pass)
- CoreCycler Auto per core (y-cruncher 24-ZN5, all tests)
- AIDA64 CPU+FPU+Cache (4 hours)
