SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -The Augustana hockey team has been sensational at home…13 wins leads the nation.
But this week they are back on the road at Michigan Tech after getting an important sweep of Lake Superior last weekend at MIDCO Arena. And they are now trailing only St. Thomas in the CCHA standings.
So this is another pivotal weekend down the regular season stretch.
Garrett Raboin, Augustana Hockey Coach says, “There’s a lot as we enter this last stretch of the CCHA regular season, there’s a a lot to play for. There’s anxiety that comes with it, there’s excitement and nerves. That’s what you need to play in. When you talk about different things through our journey I don’t know that we’ve had an opportunity like this and a whole lot of circumstances just to play big games at a big time of the year and now we’re full on league members.”
The Vikings are now in 2nd place in the conference standings. They return home next weekend to face Bowling Green.
