Prague, February 5th, 2026 – Bohemia Interactive and Enjoy Studio are back with the latest development update for Everwind, which outlines major world, combat, and system improvements. The developers are also glad to officially announce the release window of the early access version.

Watch the devlog video here.
For starters, let’s look back at the inspiring success of the Steam Next Fest demo, as it marked a significant milestone for Everwind’s development process. More than 355,000 players tried the demo, generating over 1,500 user reviews with an 86% positive rating, which placed the game among the most played demos of the event. This warm response has been both humbling and truly appreciated, and it has been shaping the internal priorities ever since, as the development has shifted back to the foundations of the game: the world itself.
The procedural island generator has been heavily reworked to create more natural shapes, deeper terrain layers, and more visually distinct biomes. Islands now feature steeper cliffs, rugged mountains, hidden caves, and far more verticality. Moreover, the environment of biomes has been expanded with more structures and lore objects, and altitude-based biomes are being introduced as well.
Combat and enemies are also evolving, as new bosses will challenge players in arena-style encounters, while new enemies offer a refreshing variety with their special abilities. Parrying is now supported for both
weapons and shields, and a growing selection of weapons, armor, and rare unique items provides more opportunities for improved builds and playstyles. The magic system is also different due to the addition of spellbooks that allow players to cast powerful support and area-of-effect spells without using a staff, while staffs now use a charge-based system with different tiers and special abilities.
And finally, despite being an unreached Kickstarter goal, NPC villages with traders and guards are also going to be part of the game!
On top of that, a long list of quality-of-life improvements is being added, including better navigation markers, full keybinding support, quick shortcuts, and a death marker system.
With the Early Access release now officially planned for Q1 2026, the team is entering the final stretch toward release, focusing on polish, balance, and incorporating player feedback as Everwind prepares to open its skies to the community. Make sure to add the game to your Steam Wishlist and follow Everwind on X, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for regular news and updates.
