RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University will host Atlantic Sun Conference foes Florida Gulf Coast on Thursday and Stetson on Saturday at Baptist Health Arena.
 
Thursday will be Colonel Mania night, bringing the energy of the ring to the court while celebrating the wild world of wrestling.  The first 1,000 fans will receive a Colonel Mania EKU Belt t-shirt.  Saturday will be Youth Sports Day at Baptist Health Arena.  All youth sports teams are invited to the game and there will be a postgame autograph session following the game.
 
Thursday’s game will begin at 7 p.m. and Saturday’s contest is scheduled for 5 p.m.  Both games will air live on ESPN+.  The live audio broadcast of the game is available worldwide on EKUSports.com and the EKUSports app.
 
THE COLONELS
–  EKU (7-16, 3-7 ASUN) lost at Central Arkansas on Saturday.
 
–  Freshman Tyler Jackson is averaging 16.5 points on 44% shooting over the last two games.
 
–  Freshman MJ Williams came up three assists short of a triple-double at Central Arkansas, finishing with 14 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.
 
–  Over the last four games, the Colonels have allowed 87 points per contest.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
–  Florida Gulf Coast is 10-13 overall and 4-6 in conference games.  The Eagles have won two straight, including a 68-49 victory at Jacksonville on Saturday.  
 
– J.R. Konieczny, a 6-foot-7 forward who played the last three seasons at Notre Dame, leads the team in scoring (15.3 ppg) and rebounding (6.4 rpg).  He has shot 46% from the field this season.  As a team the Eagles average 79 points and allow 78 per game.  FGCU has out rebounded its opponents by 3.0 per game and has committed 0.3 fewer turnovers per contest.
 
–  Stetson is 8-15 this season and 4-6 in ASUN games.  The Hatters have lost four of their last five, including a 68-66 setback at home against North Alabama on Saturday.
 
–  Jamie Phillips Jr. leads the team in scoring (16.0 ppg), is second in rebounding (5.6 rpg) and third in assists (2.8 apg).  As a team, Stetson is averaging 72 points and allowing 80 points per game.  The Hatters have been out-rebounded by 2.1 per game and commit 2.3 more turnovers than their opponents.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
–  EKU leads the all-time series with FGCU 4-1.  The Colonels have won four straight over the Eagles and are 3-0 in games played in Richmond.
 
–  Stetson holds a 4-2 edge in the series.  The Colonels won the last meeting, 83-58, on Feb. 8, 2025 in DeLand, Florida.
