Meet my WD Scorpio Blue (WD3200BPVT). This little 2.5 tank has been the heartbeat of my laptop since 2010.
While everyone is flexing their Gen5 NVMe SSDs, Im here daily driving this 5400 RPM veteran that has survived:
10,726 Power On Hours.
2,989 Power On Counts.
Countless Windows updates and chkdsk /f session😅
It’s been sitting on a Caution status for a while now, but the temperature stays solid at 44°C – 45°C
I recently checked my old logs from a while back (swipe to see the 10.685 hours mark) and it’s still holding up like a champ in 2026.
I keep the HDD set to Never Sleep to save the motor from unnecessary spin ups. It might be slow, it might be weak but its never let me down (or my dad’s work files)
They really dont build em like they used to in the Sandy Bridge era! 🫡
