Hi guys, i have a 9700x on a Asus B650 TUF Gaming Plus Wi-Fi with a Corsair ICUE H100i Elite Capellix XT 240mm AIO.
Since, like you can see in pics 1/2, i have no problem whatsoever cooling the the stock 65w TDP/88w PPT (that kinda rules out AIO mounting issues and poor thermal paste coverage, but i still reapplied and remounted it for good measure) i wanted to try the 105w/142w mode to see if i could push it a little further since i was getting just 4.2ghz in multicore applications.
The first stress test after the switch bumped me immediatly into Thermal Trottling range so i stopped it, went back to Bios and applied a -20 all cores to see if that could help with thermals. I had to scale it down to -15 for stability but, as you can see, even tho i don't hit TT anymore i'm still on the low 90s which is not ideal (especially considering i'm locked to the 142w PPT so it's not pushing temps to boost further)
Any idea/advice on what i could do about it? the voltages look "fine" to me (but maybe i'm missing something and that's why i'm asking) and a 240mm AIO should theoretically have no issue cooling a 150w processor, so i got no clue what could be the issue.
Yes, i peeled off the plastic from the cooler and, yes, i made sure to mount it correctly with enough paste. The pump is set at 100% and you can feel the liquid through the tubes.
Thanks in advance for any answer ^-^
