It’s been confirmed that a balance update for Street Fighter 6 will be packaged alongside the release of Alex, the third of four characters for Season 3. After Alex is made available, only Ingrid will remain of the Season 3 roster.
Could Capcom actually be reconsidering the frequency and depth of future balance updates like they said? Notably, fans were feeling hesitant to believe this statement since it felt like Capcom has made similar comments in the past.
Regardless, some fans have already begun the age-old tradition within the fighting game community of speculating on what sort of adjustments we could be in store for. Those that play underperforming characters seem especially ecstatic about the possibilities.
However, it would seem that some players are getting a little carried away with what they claim to be “reasonable expectations” on what will be different. Many of the proposed buffs are just ridiculously outlandish, though it’s also clear that this is just being done for the sake of memes.
For example, it’s been proposed that Lily, a combatant that has basically been one of the worst performers since the release of Street Fighter 6, be given a range extension to her crouching heavy punch. As seen in the highlighted image, this would give Lily the ability to pressure opponents from full screen away with a comically large war club.
Another change would also grant Marisa full-screen presence. Tradition usually dictates that command grab characters be as close as possible to land their unblockable moves, but it seems one fan wants this to travel as far as possible before initiating the sequence.
