Nightin Cage

The developer of the upcoming Action RPG Nightin Cage has responded quickly to fan feedback regarding fanservice and the character’s animations.

In a recent post, the developer showed off the main character’s climbing animations and how she rose back to her feet after reaching the top. Some fans noted that it felt unnatural, and that it’d be sexier to keep her movements a little more subdued to enhance immersion and not to cheapen the fanservice.

The fanservice of Nightin Cage is one of the main appeals of the game, featuring a sexy protagonist, multiple outfits, and according to AUTOMATON there are even outfits which get damaged during gameplay to expose more skin.

One fan noted that more subdued animations would keep the game more in line with classic fanservice icons like 2B from Nier;Automata or Eve from Stellar Blade.

Within a day, a new animation was posted which still emphasized jiggle physics in the butt and thighs. But, rather than sticking her butt out silently and for an awkwardly long time she now climbs to the top, does a similar animation but it looks more natural, and there’s an added sound effect when she crawls on the ledge which gives her movements weight. All in order to create a more immersive experience for players.

Thank you all for your appreciation. I’ve added more transitional animations so she no longer looks like she’s falling over after leaving the ladder, and I’ve also adjusted the sound effects.🥳#gamedev #indiegame #rpg #nightincage pic.twitter.com/S428uOWeNT
