The idea of a Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat collaboration is something that fans have considered for years, but has never happened in an official capacity. Of course, Capcom director Takayuki Nakayama once hinted that he’s open to including Sub-Zero as a guest after the reveal of Terry and Mai from Fatal Fury guest starring in Street Fighter 6.
TrueUnderDawgGaming recently released a video that speculated on which Street Fighter characters would be able to survive in an environment alongside Mortal Kombat combatants. As the video goes on, TrueUnderDawgGaming creates a tier list that depicts his opinions.
Surprising to probably nobody, Akuma (and especially Oni Akuma) wouldn’t just survive in the Mortal Kombat universe, he’d thrive in it. Though he isn’t necessarily evil, Akuma is constantly seeking a worthy opponent to engage in a fight to the death with, though most characters in the Street Fighter universe don’t share in his ideology.
M. Bison is another character that would probably prosper against Mortal Kombat fighters since he already has a history of dying and coming back to life thanks to his seemingly endless supply of spare bodies. Even if somebody dealt him a mortal blow, he’d eventually be back for a rematch.
Fighters like Ingrid, Gill and Oro probably wouldn’t necessarily be interested in performing Fatalities on their opponents, but they’re powerful enough in that it would be difficult for most Mortal Kombat combatants to hold their own against them.
Of course, it’s important to keep in mind that TrueUnderDawgGaming is mostly a Mortal Kombat content creator, so some of his Street Fighter opinions might differ from those more familiar with the Street Fighter lore. Feel free to provide your own opinions in the comments section.
