NVIDIA has seemingly realigned its entire RTX 50 Gaming GPU stack to counter the memory shortages, while ASUS says RTX 5070 Ti supply is over.
ASUS Says Production of RTX 5070 Ti Has Halted as NVIDIA is Reportedly Focusing on Limiting Its Inventories To Fewer RTX 50 Gaming GPUs
Almost every day we wake up to a bad report, and there could be nothing worse than seeing your favorite RTX 50 GPUs being out of stock due to the ongoing memory crisis. It appears that gaming is not just the least priority of GPU makers, but it is now getting fully crumbled in all of this mess as several reports state that the green team is realigning its entire RTX 50 GPUs and limiting production to just a few variants.
As per the latest report by Hardware Unboxed, NVIDIA has ended the supply of GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, which was later confirmed by ASUS, as they can no longer place orders for the GPU from NVIDIA. ASUS has added the RTX 5070 Ti to the EOL product list since they don’t expect the card to be available any longer, and the effect can be seen in the market immediately. As investigated by HUB, many retailers in Australia can no longer secure the RTX 5070 Ti from distributors, and it is expected that this situation will remain for the entire Q1.

ASUS is now focusing on other NVIDIA RTX 50 series models since they have a limited supply of RTX 5070 Ti GPUs, and it’s unknown whether NVIDIA will resume the supply of these GPUs in the near future.
This coincides with the report by HEKPC, which suggests that NVIDIA is adjusting its inventory according to the VRAM configuration and discontinuing some 16 GB models. We already reported on it recently, and it looks like we won’t just be seeing the RTX 5070 Ti reaching EOL, but the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB will meet the same fate.
If a model like the RTX 5060 Ti has both 8GB and 16GB versions, NVIDIA will focus on supplying the 8GB version. When two different models, such as the RTX 5060 8GB and RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, share the same memory capacity, the higher-tier model (the RTX 5060 Ti) will be prioritized for supply.
Similarly, if the RTX 5060 Ti, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5080 are all 16GB models, the highest-tier model among them, the RTX 5080, will receive supply priority.
The AIC partner also disclosed that it has not yet been decided whether the RTX 5070 12GB will have to “make way,” meaning its memory allocation could be redirected to the higher-end RTX 5080.
Regarding the top-tier GeForce RTX 5090 and GeForce RTX 5090 D v2, these models are not subject to this specific prioritization mechanism. However, due to the general memory shortage, their supply volume will inevitably be affected.
This implies that NVIDIA intends to streamline its SKU lineup, concentrating its main supply on the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, RTX 5080, RTX 5090 D v2, and RTX 5090. The supply for other models will be significantly reduced.

As per the report, NVIDIA will end production of the RTX 5060 8 GB, RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB, and RTX 5070 Ti 16 GB GPUs to focus on the 8 GB versions, as well as those that sit above RTX 5070 Ti.

The fate of RTX 5070 is undecided, but it may also reach EOL, considering NVIDIA wants to push 8 GB models much more than the 16 GB cards. All in all GPUs aren’t just getting expensive, but they are also getting discontinued before their 1st anniversary. We are already seeing RTX 5090 reaching a $5000 price tag, and the prices for every model is expected to increase drastically in the coming weeks.
