Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is set to be released sometime in Summer 2026. Though the game still appears to be in a “pre-alpha” state, we’re slowly but surely learning about all of its mechanics.
Earlier today, the “Official Chi Gauge Tutorial Trailer” was released for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game. This is one of the main mechanics that players will need to understand in order to excel at the game.
Those familiar with Street Fighter 6’s Drive Gauge system will notice similarities with the Chi Gauge. Players will start with four bars of meter, but will spend the resource as they use actions that stem from the Flow Button.
Upon overspending Chi Gauge, a character will become “Unbalanced.” This status is like Street Fighter 6’s Burnout condition, but it might be even riskier by comparison.
Every hit against an opponent that is Unbalanced with result in a counter hit. Additionally, every knock down becomes a hard knock down. Throws will become Critical Throws. Of course, the Flow Button will also be inaccessible while Unbalanced.
Most devastating of all, a player will automatically win a round if they perform a True Chakra Art against an Unbalanced opponent. This sort of technique can even be utilized in a combo.
Check out everything that’s possible with the Chi Gauge and Flow Button in the video below:
