MITCHELL — A few schedule changes have been made to the Hoop City Classic basketball slate for Tuesday and Wednesday at the Corn Palace.

Totino-Grace High School, of Minnesota, isn’t making the trip to Mitchell due to illness. That means both of the Eagles’ matchups — an 8:30 p.m. game on Tuesday night against Zephyrhills Christian Academy (Fla.) and a 3 p.m. Wednesday contest against Mitchell — have been canceled.

With the cancellation, the Mitchell High School boys basketball team’s only game of the classic will now be a 7 p.m. game Tuesday against Jonesboro High School, of Georgia.

The Wednesday boys matchup between Elk Point-Jefferson and Gettysburg was moved up to 3 p.m. as a result of the changes.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “Mitchell Republic.” Often, the “Mitchell Republic” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
