The Golden Yachties series is MassivelyOP’s annual set of fauxwards, named in honor of some guy who was convinced we are all making bank writing about MMORPGs and that it is so lucrative that we’re typing MMO blog posts from a gold-plated yacht. Did Poe’s Law apply? Nobody knows. We’re enjoying the view from the yacht’s deck, shown above, however.

John Guildwars
ArenaNet spent the summer teasing Guild Wars 2 fans with symbols representing the elite specs in the then-unreleased Visions of Eternity expansion, prompting endless speculation… and an unholy union of all nine parts into our favorite awful mascot of the year.
As far as we can tell, the image was first posted to the GW2 subreddit by r/MrModius, to which r/CheshireMadness replied, “It’s Him. John Guildwars himself.” Perfection. I am love him.
He… he almost kinda looks like Mo, doesn’t he?
