
Masahiro Sakurai has been adamant that Super Smash Bros. is meant to be a celebration of gaming. Therefore, characters with origins tied outside of videos games, such as Goku and Iron Man, will likely never become playable within the series.
However, that’s only true for the franchise in an official capacity. Through the power of modding, even impossible characters can be made playable in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
It would seem that certain fans were interested in seeing what it would be like to have a playable Spider-Man in a platform brawler. A video showcasing the moveset in action has been uploaded by Master0fHyrule.
This version of Spider-Man borrows a number of attacks and behaviors from Sheik. Of course, Spider-Man has plenty of unique actions at his disposal as well.
As one might expect, Spider-Man utilizes a tether grab to snare opponents with thanks to his web cartridges. This gives him above average reach with his grab function.
For his up special, he uses the Web Sling ability, though it isn’t capable of dealing any damage. However, his neutral special, the Web Ball, is a powerful projectile that stuns opponents for a duration upon making contact with them.
