IHeartJustice recently released an interesting video that had him, Lythero and Zyzx debating with Maximilian Dood about the state in which Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite was released in. It’s been over eight years since that game was released, but it has undeniably had a lingering impact on the Marvel vs. Capcom fanbase.

During that video, Maximilian Dood told the story of how he tried to emphasize just how important the X-Men were to Marvel vs. Capcom. At the time, Disney did not own the film rights to the X-Men, so they were given less priority in projects like Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, but fans still cared a great deal about the characters associated with the X-Men series.

Originally, there was an interview between Maximilian and some of the producers for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite that was supposed to be used in a “hot takes” clip. However, Maximilian’s insistence on X-Men representation seemingly ensured that the clip never saw the light of day.

“And you know what? I have eyes or ears. And I can tell that this [crap] big sucks.” — Maximilian Dood

Later in the video, Maximilian would tell another story that featured an interesting interaction between him and someone else that was involved with the development of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

Apparently, this person approached Maximilian at some sort of Comic-Con event. As it turns out, this individual wasn’t too happy about some of the criticisms that Maximilian had relayed about the game in public.

“Another funny MvCI story, is that… I’ve been in your guys’ position. And you know what? I have eyes or ears. And I can tell that this [crap] big sucks,” begun Maximilian.

“And I was kind of vocal about that in 2017. So much so that some lead audio engineer or person working on the game was really pissed off at me at like a Comic-Con and came up to me publicly and started denouncing me.”

According to Maximilian, this individual was asking Maximilian why he was speaking so negatively about Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. It sounds like this sort of confrontation had the potential to escalate in a public space based on how aggressive this individual was being with his statements.

Fortunately, it would seem that Maximilian isn’t the type of content creator that necessarily wants to get involved with drama like this. As such, Maximilian made it a point to deescalate the situation before it actually got out of hand.

“I’m like, ‘Hey, man, I got to get going,'” said Maximilian. Needless to say, it’s implied that Maximilian simply walked away from the confrontation rather than getting into a heated argument with the instigator.

“I am used to being in this position, brothers! Like, I have been here before!”
