Hi everyone, I’m completely stuck with a RAM issue and would really appreciate some guidance.

I’ve been running this system for about 5–6 years without any upgrades until today, when I added another identical-capacity RAM kit, going from 2×8GB to 4×8GB.

Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600XT

Original RAM (used for 5–6 years): Corsair CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16 (2×8GB)

New RAM added today: Corsair CMK16GX4M2E3200C16 (2×8GB)

I’m aware these are different Corsair batches/revisions, so I didn’t expect 3200 MHz DOCP to be guaranteed. However, I expected some manual configuration would work with slightly lowered timings/frequency.

My issue: No matter what I try, the system always falls back to JEDEC defaults (2400 MHz) after reboot. Which is 2400MHz with CL17 and tRAS39. DOCP (3200 MHz 16-18-18-36) does not work.

I've tried:

  • Tried 2933, 2666, 2400 MHz
  • Manually relaxed timings step by step: Up to CL22, very loose tRAS (40–48 range)
  • Increased voltages: DRAM voltage up to 1.40V SoC voltage up to 1.10V Command Rate tested (1T / 2T)
  • CMOS reset multiple times

At this point it feels like I’m either missing a fundamental BIOS setting, or The board/IMC really dislikes 4 DIMMs with mixed Corsair revisions. Any advice to check specific BIOS settings or disable would be appreciated.
