The fighting game event with the largest prize pool ever recently went down with the SNK World Championship 2025, and they’re looking to go big again next year.

SNK has now revealed the plans for their 2026 pro circuit including four different titles and tons of tournaments all across the world.

The SNK World Championship is back for 2026, and they’re keeping the record-setting prize pool from this year of $4.1 million.

Like before, it’ll be split four ways with Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves getting $2.5 million of that big money followed by The King of Fighters 15 at $1 million, Samurai Shodown at $500,000 and Art of Fighting 3 with $100,000.

While all that is the same, SNK will be handling the tournament structure quite a bit differently in the new year.

The SWC 2026 season now includes a global leaderboard where players can earn points by competing in different ranking level events between Legend, Master 1, Master 2, Master 3 and online tournaments.

These ranking points will be more important than ever too even if a competitor doesn’t end up reaching the finals.

SNK revealed they are going to try out the unique approach of paying out all players on their leaderboard with 1 point equaling $1 USD.

This can add up quickly since Legend winners get 8,000 points while the least you can receive is 100 points for reaching top 8 or top 16 depending on the tournament.

They are also offering invitation slots to the finals with five going to Fatal Fury including this year’s SWC winner Reject|Laggia, KOF15 gets two and Samurai Shodown gets one.

The winners of the three Legend events for Fatal Fury get invites too while KOF and SamSho have spots from Master 2 tournaments.

A total of 13 players will make it to the world championship from the leaderboard for Fatal Fury, nine more come from online tournaments, and the last two will be for the last chance qualifier to make a total of 32 finalists.

It seems they haven’t finalized the details for KOF and SamSho qualifications yet, however, but Art of Fighting 3 finals are just going to be an open tournament.

The 2026 SWC is set to kick off at Frosty Faustings on January 29 followed by Genesis X3, Gema Live and then Texas Showdown 2026.

Evo 2026 and Evo Japan are going to make up two out of the three Legend events for Fatal Fury with the third being in France at a yet to be confirmed tournament.

The dates and venue for the SWC finals have not been revealed yet either.

Rules and tournament details for the SWC 2026 can be found on SNK’s website.
