Small Post

If you'd like to be able to play Fireteam again, this is the opportunity. The Fireteam group has now been established by u/Logical-Bear-6263. Please contact them if you'd like to join

Every weekend, the members will be pinged at a designated time. When pinged, the members will boot up Cold War and search for Fireteam Moshpit. Now that lots of people are simultaneously searching for a lobby, a lobby will form almost immediately. Fireteam has now been reignited and available to play for all of us to enjoy, just in time for the holiday season

Fireteam: Dirty Bomb is my favorite mode. The maps were incredibly well-designed, the objective was different, and the gameplay was dynamic – all the criteria for an excellent new game, in my opinion. Something else, inventing a brand new mode is incredibly difficult. In this day and age, almost every possible idea has already been thought of and added to a game

However when Cold War released, the community had a few complaints:

  • They kept getting shot out the sky, because they decided to parachute too high
  • They kept getting killed by people who'd land behind them, because they weren't aware enough
  • They kept getting killed when going for the final bomb, because they didn't understand that going for the final bomb was unstrategic

These complaints wouldn't have been an issue if the community knew how to play the mode. They gave it a little chance, decided they didn't enjoy it due to not learning the simple strategies, and went straight back to Nuketown. And for that reason, a mode that should've been enjoyed was one to be ignored

One time, I decided to randomly look for a game. Somehow, someway, a lobby formed. It was my first game in years. I then found out that there was a group of people who'd get together and play Fireteam every Friday and Saturday at 5pm EST for 4-5 hours, and so every week I would look forward to it. I recognized the same players, learned who the skilled ones were, and formed rivalries with them. The niche-ness of this routine was what made it so thrilling compared to something like TDM

Then after several months, this group began to decline. The routine went from Fridays and Saturdays to just Saturdays, then 5 hours to 4, to 3, and so on. It got to a point where there was nothing for 2-3 weeks per cycle, and when there was, it was just boosters. So I decided to start posting about Fireteam every week to try and encourage others to join

After many months of posting, I thought that the best way to go about it would be if someone created the Fireteam group, which has been established today

The Fireteam group consists of original players who used to enjoy it, and new players who'd like to play it. The purpose of the group is to make it possible to play Fireteam in a nice, reliable, consistent weekly routine for anyone to enjoy

Every weekend, the members will be pinged at a designated time. When pinged, the members will boot up Cold War and search for Fireteam Moshpit.
