ok, I'll try again, just replaced a 14700k with a 7800x3d on a b850 aorus elite, ram is corsair platinum 7200 which is hynix A die, currently at 6000 with buidlzoids lazy timings, cpu has a -20 CO offset, GPU +10PL 2700 fast timings -100mv and +200 core offset, this is my best score, temps are fine but I have seen TBP exceed 620w in HWi, package power is 360w maxxed, couple of questions:
- do you think the ram is holding me back, especially when dialing back the gpu oc for gaming, ive tried a few different setting including xmp, I dont have enough experience with ram tuning to tweak individual timings
- with that power consumption i'm thinking about replacing my phanteks 850 with a 1000w corsair, its a newer standard etc and more headroom
- dialling back the gpu to -60, +10, stock ram I get a lot of crashes in arc raiders, and end up pretty much back at stock, bf6 seems stable with the same settings, what are people running as a sensible daily oc and do you think PSU could be maxing out, when I had the 14700k / 7900xtx I would have hard restarts that seemed very similar to underpowered psu, tbh I never checked power draw beyond the readout in radeon but I expect it was higher than I've seen with the 9070xt given the 17 was so power hungry too
sidegrade form the last system only set me back about £150 after selling the old bits
