In canon, Commissar Markhov's fate in unknown but this differs in this altered timeline. He is assigned to General Dragovich's unit for some reason on a mission to the Artic Circle.

If the commissar was present, what would he do?
- Agree with both Dragovich and Kravchenko (either out of blind obedience or being told it was for the best of the Soviet Union).
- The event stays the same with either his death or silenced.
- (My favorite part) Announced both Dragovich and Kravchenko as traitors to the motherland and have them with Steiner and the Soviet troops loyal to them thrown into the gas tank where they get a dose of karma. Then ordered all materials for Nova 6 to be destroyed before they return to the USSR as heroes.
