So I was going through an "Indian version of fb marketplace" and saw just the PC listed at 80k₹ ($960). Read the specs and thought it had to be a scam but followed through regardless.
Turns out this guy was a rich lawyer and was in one of the wealthiest places in my city. He was moving abroad for work and had no use for any of his setup and he just bought all of this 5 months back. I went there and was flabbergasted, he just told me to take whatever I want from his desk and I just raided his whole setup.
The PC has an i9-14900K, RTX 5070, and 96GB of DDR5 RAM FAHHH. Storage is nuts – three NVMe drives plus a 4TB hard drive, total of 7.5TB.
He threw in both his monitors too. One's a 27" 1440p 180Hz for gaming, the other is a 27" 4K HDR. Plus all the peripherals – Logitech MX Master 3S mouse, HyperX mechanical keyboard, gaming headset, and even a mousepad lmao.
If I had to buy all this new it would've been over $4,000. I paid $960.
The whole build doesn't make sense, and the ram alone cost the whole thing I paid him. I'm freaking out like this thing is just sitting at my desk in a day I'm so happy.
Y'all have any advice? I'm a sophomore, I don't know much about what I have in my hands and do any of these need different care, like the processor (i9 14th gen) I was told to undervolt and use it cause in this build it nearly does not have enough cooling and degradation/voltage issues were talked about on this Core so please let me know if anything like that I should do.
TL;DR: Found "$960 gaming PC" listing on Indian marketplace. Thought it was a scam. Turns out it was a rich lawyer moving abroad who gave me his entire $4K setup (PC + dual monitors + all peripherals) because he has no use for it. The RAM alone costs almost what I paid for everything.
