2XKO recently received a notable balance update meant to nerf the top characters in the game, but how much has that really impacted who the best players are still using?
Well, we have a new Challenger ranking chart for 2XKO that shows there have been some changes though maybe not exactly where you’d likely expect.
The always-dedicated AlietteFaye dug through the data and put together a big chart to break down the team compositions of the highest rated online players two weeks after the update.
Compared to AlietteFaye’s previous 2XKO charts, we can see some interesting shifts as well as a few things remaining largely the same.
The most popular team among Challenger ranked players is still Yasuo and Ekko despite the nerfs though their numbers did go down by just a bit from 45 to 42.
Teemo’s usage, however, seems to have taken a bit of a hit since he’s no longer represented in the top three teams.
Instead, as many players suspected, Ahri has risen up the ranks to fill those spots with her being on the second and third highest picked teams alongside you guessed it… Yasuo and Ekko.
So it appears these nerfs weren’t enough to get players to really commit to different characters unsurprisingly, so it’ll be interesting to see how the developers handle them going forward after their recent balance philosophy discussions.
There’s still five teams that have no representation in the Challenger ranks between Darius/Braum, Braum/Illaoi, Yasuo/Braum, Jinx/Darius and Teemo/Warwick.
