Sagat and C. Viper are the latest additions to the Street Fighter 6 roster. As such, Alex and Ingrid are the two remaining characters of the Season 3 cast.

When Season 3 was first announced, it was stated that Sagat would be released in Summer 2025, C. Viper in Fall 2025, Alex in early Spring 2026 and Ingrid in late Spring 2026. Thus far, Sagat and C. Viper have lived up to these timelines, but it’s starting to seem like Alex’s release might’ve been moved up from his early Spring 2026 window.

It was recently reported that Street Fighter 6 had achieved 6 million sales worldwide. Indeed, Street Fighter 6 is outpacing Street Fighter 5’s performance by a good bit at this point.

As such, Rooflemonger is claiming that he received a press release from Capcom that’s now stating that Alex is slated for a “Winter 2026” release window. In other words, Alex will supposedly be released sometime in January or February of 2026 (not December).

I got a press release from capcom and Alex’s release time just got moved up.
Originally he was stated to be released early spring 2026, and now he’s listed as winter 2026 🤔 pic.twitter.com/okc3FgG6cP

This isn’t far removed from Alex’s original “Spring 2026” schedule, but it does imply that he could be made available a little earlier than previously believed. Additionally, this also means that there’d be a little less of a “drought” between the releases of C. Viper and Alex.

Notably, The Game Awards 2025 presentation is set to begin on December 11, 2025. Considering how Alex’s release is lining up, it’s certainly within the realm of possibilities that Capcom drops a teaser for Alex during the ceremony.

While I did not receive the same press release that Rooflemonger is claiming to have received, I did find something interesting looking through my own inbox. Back in June, Capcom sent out a press release for the Summer Game Fest 2025 Showcase on the same day in which Season 3 was first announced.

Curiously, that particular press release listed Alex as having a “Winter 2025” window (with all the other characters having their correct release windows as before). For some reason, Alex has been listed as having a release window of early Spring 2026, Winter 2025 and Q1 Winter 2026.

“Alex (Winter 2025) will perform his high-flying grappling takedowns under the bright lights later this year in Street Fighter 6! Returning from Street Fighter 5, this fan-favorite character climbs through the ropes in winter 2025,” said that press release back in June.

At first, this Winter 2025 listing just seemed like a mistake, but it’s possible that Capcom is potentially hoping to get Alex released a little earlier than initially listed as a sort of “surprise” for fans.

We’ll just have to wait and see how things play out from here to find out what’s going on here.
