Capcom and SNK are of course most well known in these parts for their fighting games, but their rosters of iconic characters and series are heading over to a very different genre.

You’ll soon be able to see the likes of Ryu, Chun-Li, Terry Bogard, Mai Shiranui and many more in a very familiar picture puzzle game.

Jupiter announced today two new Picross S games being the Capcom Classics Edition and the SNK Classics & NEOGEO Edition.

These are separate titles, so there won’t be any actual Capcom vs. SNK here though it is still interesting to see them both come out at once.

Each new Picross S will feature 150 Picross puzzles, 150 Mega Picross, 30 Color Picross, Clip Picross and 30 Time Attack puzzles along with multiplayer.

They’ll both include dozens of puzzles themed around their classic titles including Street Fighter 2 Turbo and Super Street Fighter 2 on the Capcom side plus a bunch of Mega Man, Final Fight, Ghosts ‘n Goblins and more.

The SNK Picross will unsurprisingly have a much higher concentration of fighting games featuring Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury 2, Samurai Shodown, Fatal Fury Special, Art of Fighting 2, The King of Fighters ’94, Fatal Fury 3, Savage Reign, The King of Fighters ’95, Samurai Shodown 3, Real Bout Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting 3, The King of Fighters ’96, Kizuna Encounter, Samurai Shodown 4, Real Bout Fatal Fury Special, The King of Fighters ’97, The Last Blade, Fatal Fury Real Bout 2, The Last Blade 2, The King of Fighters ’99, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, The King of Fighters 2000, The King of Fighters 2001, The King of Fighters 2003 and Samurai Shodown 5 Special.

We have seen the companies officially cross over very recently with Chun-Li joining Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and the collaboration apparently having been worked on behind the scenes for years between Capcom and SNK.

Both the Capcom and SNK Picross S titles are scheduled to release on the Nintendo Switch on November 27 for $18 each.
