I've seen a lot of negativity and/or concerns surrounding the increased PAP costs (and the price of Gold Armor) in cursed mode. So, I decided to do some testing, and they seem perfectly fine to me so far.
In this game I used the Akita for points (more on that below), the WW for raw power against elites and Mimics, no Gobble Gums while also having the first three relics enabled (Mimics, No Power-Ups, Reduced time between rounds).
Here are the rounds in which I was able to get each tier of PAP, all Perks, as well as Gold Armor:
Round 8: Akita Tier 1 PAP + 3 Perks + Tier 2 Armor
Round 13: Akita Tier 2 PAP (This actually negatively affected my point farming)
Round 21: Gold Armor + an additional Perk (in this case, Stamin-Up)
Round 24: Wonder Weapon Tier 2 PAP (Might have been able to get this sooner but I chose not to get the WW until this round)
Round 25: All Perks
Round 29: Completely set up. All Perks, Gold Armor, 2 Tier 3 PAP-ed weapons (I promise the Gauntlet is Triple PAP-ed even though I didn't get a screenshot)
I understand the Akita is completely busted when it comes to point farming, but even with a regular point gun (such as an SMG) I feel like it's not too hard to get fully set up before round ~35 or so, especially if you're utilizing Gobbles or playing without the Dragon Wings Relic (so you can utilize Double Points).
These are just my findings, and I am actually interested in how different it would be if I were to use an SMG for points rather than the Akita, so if you're interested, I'm definitely down to test it and compare. I'd love to hear what others think.
