For some time now, Ashes of Creation has been talking up its Alpha Two build, but this week we got a new name for it: Steam early access. That’s right, the next build of the PvP MMORPG is headed to the platform on Thursday, December 11th.

An FAQ related to the announcement confirms that the Steam early access is purely optional and not required for those who already bought into the earlier testing phases, and that those who play on Steam and on Intrepid’s own launcher will play together. Early access will have a box price of $50, which will also grant access to planned beta phases, the full launch, access to the NDA-locked PTR, and a month of subscription time once the game goes live, but the bundle will be on discount between December 11th and 25th.

Prior to the arrival of early access, Ashes will make Alpha Two available on the existing realms along with PTR testing on select dates in November and early December. There will also be focused testing to find exploits, squash bugs, and a community event featuring the earlier discussed corruption and invasion mechanics. Those who are already in testing can click here for all the dates, but otherwise the game can be wishlisted on Steam now.
